Following Saturday’s 28-24 win over the South Carolina Bulls, the Fayetteville Commandos announced Thursday via Facebook, their four Players of the Week – two on offense, two on defense – that were instrumental to their win.
Offensively, the Commandos named running back Nate Williams and wide receiver Charles Banks as their two players of the game. Williams averaged more than five yards per carry and finished with 105 yards and a touchdown and Banks hauled in five passes for 99 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Defensively, Branton heard registered four tackles, a fumble recovery and the interception that setup the winning drive and linebacker Triston Jacobs finished with 10 tackles and 1/2 sack to be named players of the game. Ken Brown was named the lineman of the week for the second consecutive week for his pancake blocks on offense, to go with six tackles and two sacks on defense, including a crucial sack in the final minute.
